How to connect with a Japanese IP
For services and uses permitted by the provider, the connection process is:
- Review JapanVPN plans and sign into your account if you choose to proceed.
- Use the installation instructions for an available JapanVPN client and connect to Japan.
- Confirm that your public IP location appears in Japan using an independent IP location checker. The app’s connected state alone does not prove the streaming service accepts your location.
- Open radiko and follow its current account, device and playback instructions.

Why a Japanese connection may still be rejected
Streaming services can identify VPN or datacenter IP ranges. Acceptance can differ between connections and change over time. DNS or device-location inconsistencies can also produce a region error. A Japanese IP changes the apparent network location; it does not supply a subscription, payment eligibility or viewing rights.
Troubleshooting radiko
If one station fails, check its station-area and plan requirements. If the service itself rejects your location, check current compatibility rather than assuming another subscription will fix the connection.
Confirm the VPN is connected, restart the app or browser, then reconnect once. If unrelated sites also fail, investigate the connection first. If playback alone fails, review the compatibility guidance and contact support with the error text and device type.
